SHETLAND ISLANDS CRUISER GROUP RIDING – RIDER SKILLS GUIDELINES continued from previous page15. We are trying to maintain a safe ride out environment. There is to be no traffic light and roundabout blocking by cavalier riders, as this is illegal and can result in prosecution. In certain situations, the Ride Leader will request Marshals or Out Riders, and this is to be the only time this behaviour is practiced. 16. Because of the diversity and different levels of the riders, organised ride outs must follow the staggered formation. No matter how experienced you think you are, Please do NOT overtake riders in the convoy as you could be overtaking and unsettling one of the inexperienced riders. Only Road Marshals should overtake other riders in the group.17. New riders, those who have not ridden with the group before or those running in a new bike should speak to the Ride Leader as it is preferable for them to be in with the leading bikes – A “strange but true” fact is that those toward the front of the group will travel at a much slower speed than those behind…18. Finally, there is a “LETTER of the LAW”. Don’t Break It! We obey all speed limits and traffic regulations during the group ride.MOST IMPORTANTBe safe but bring with you a sense of humour and aim to have fun. - and we can all have a pleasurable and enjoyable time… : -)

AND REMEMBER - HERE IN THE UKWE RIDE ON THE LEFT!
